We must give a name to that nagging critical inner voice in our heads (I call mine Sultan Jr.)! Treat it as a second person. Rephrase everything it’s saying from “I am…” to “You are…”
Reacting to it won’t help. Instead seek to understand where it’s coming from, why is it saying what it’s saying, and how can we empathize with it. Ignoring it will only make it louder!
Give it attention for it to stop, but it has to be the right kind of attention!
